Through advanced initiatives, we pass on to the next generation the high level of technical expertise we have cultivated as professionals in the electric power industry. At the same time, by ensuring a stable supply of electricity and creating new added value, we aim to help create a society where local communities can truly experience comfortable, safe, and secure lives.
In order to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) effectively and appropriately, we hereby establish this AI Basic Policy.

1. Respect for Human-Centered Values and Fairness

In utilizing AI, we give due consideration to ensuring that human dignity and autonomy are not undermined, and we strive for fair operations that eliminate unjust bias and discrimination. Even as the automation of operations through AI progresses, we will retain responsibility for making important decisions.

2. Safe Use

We place the highest priority on the safety of our customers and local communities. Taking into account the characteristics of AI-related risks, we manage such risks using appropriate measures. In addition, we ensure thorough compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and we promote appropriate use with particular consideration given to the protection of personal information and privacy, intellectual property, and the security of AI systems.

3. Information Disclosure and Accountability

In our business operations, we clearly indicate when AI is used and strive to ensure that decisions and the processes leading to them are explainable and verifiable. We work to enable ex-post verification, thereby enhancing quality and reliability.

4. Human Capital Development

We place importance on the growth and active contribution of human resources who support our business development and management. In order to equip them with accurate knowledge of AI and a high level of ethical awareness, we provide education and awareness-raising activities in line with technological advancements.

5. Promotion of Innovation

By effectively utilizing AI to address societal challenges and through co-creation with local communities and customers, we aim to drive meaningful innovation.
