Oirasegawa-River, A Natural Tourist Attraction
Oirasegawa-River is the only river that surges from Lake Towada. From Nenokuchi, located on the eastern shore of the lake, it runs northeast and branches off east of Yakeyama-Mountain in Towada City, and flows into the Pacific Ocean at Kamikita County.
The upper section of the Oirasegawa-River is known for its beautiful scenery. Its deep green foliage in spring and summer, the colorful leaves in autumn and the winter landscape filled with snow, fascinate the many tourists that visit scenic Towada Lake. Lately, the number of tourists from neighboring Asian countries has more than doubled, amateur and professional skiers alike, flock to prominent ski areas that abound in the region.
