Basic Stance to Environment

As part of the efforts to fulfill CSR, Tohoku EPCo Group regards its measures against environmental issues as an important management challenge to win confidence of local communities.

Moreover, as a vision to further clarify the environment-friendly management pursued by Tohoku EPCo Group, we declare the “image of environment that we pursue,” and establish our basic concept of environmental efforts as an “environmental policy” and actively promote group-wide environmental activities.

Based on the management philosophy of “mutual prosperity with local communities” and “creation of new corporate values,” Tohoku EPCo Group companies make active efforts to reduce environmental loads, protect the environment and promote creative activities as a company that is trusted by society and selected by customers, and as a company that pursues high-quality operations. Additionally, we aim at sustainable development by making the environmental protection and economic growth harmonious and compatible with each other through the partnership with local communities.

Action Guidelines

1. While ensuring safety and stable supply, we seek to create a highly efficient energy supply system in consideration of cost efficiency and environmental protection.
2. While aiming at further improving the efficiency of energy utilization, we provide the types of energy, which have high environmental values.
3. Taking a global perspective, we promote the activities to cooperate in and contribute to global environment protection, while trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
4. To create a recycling-oriented society, we endeavor to promote the efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle wastes.
5. While raising the awareness of every one of our employees about the environment, we promote environmental activities as a member of local communities.
6. While complying with the environment-related laws, regulations and agreements, we promote the reduction in environmental loads, environmental protection and creative activities.
7. While managing and periodically reviewing the progress of achievement of environment purposes and targets that we set, we promote continuous improvement.
8. We widely disclose the information about the status of implementation of environmental protection activities based on this policy to communicate with local communities.
