Environmental Impact Caused by Business Activities

The diagram below shows major resource inputs and environmental impact caused as the result of business activities in FY2004.

Operations of electricity industry business require large quantities of natural resources and energy, and in the process of these activities, exhaust gases, waste water, and various wastes are produced. We have been making strenuous efforts to minimize environmental impact by such means as introducing high-performance cleaners and purifiers, and recycling wastes.

In FY2004, the electricity sales increased, but we could control environmental impact at the same level as the previous fiscal year level.
