Efforts for Continuous Improvement of Environmental Activities

We have executed the Environmental Management System (EMS) since its introduction in FY2000 across the board while making continuous efforts for firm establishment of EMS as an integral part of our Company.

We have acquired certifications of ISO 14001, one of international standards for environmental management systems, for all our thermal and nuclear power stations to reduce impact on the environment. (as of July 2005)

In May 2005, we set up the "Company Group Environmental Committee," which devised the Tohoku EPCo Group's environmental policy and an environmental action plan.
